I am an 18 year old international tennis player from Cheshire, Great Britain. I regularly compete in regional / national tour events and Women’s British Tours as well as ITF junior and Pro- Circuit Events.
I have been a member of the Cheshire County team, competing for every age group from U12s to Open Women’s. I have also been a member of my School Tennis Team as the number 1 player where we have made the U18 national finals (top 16 schools) for the last 5 years where our best finish was 7th and in 2015 came 4th in U15s and sealed our position as the best tennis state school in the country.
Before University, I trained at my local club, Bramhall Lane Lawn Tennis Club with my individual coach James Turner and at David Lloyd Cheadle and Bolton Arena. I regularly play for my club and we are currently in the Aegon National Team Tennis division competing against 5 of the other best clubs in the North of England for a place at national finals.
I have just completed the AASE scheme which entailed a lot of online work about technical, tactical, mental and other aspects of being a tennis player. As part of this I was selected for an LTA trip to Barcelona Total Tennis Academy for two weeks in March 2018. This experience was invaluable as I trained on red clay, had the chance to be coached by Rafael Nadal’s coach and other world class Spanish coaches and play against many international players.
For the last two years I have competed in the Manchester $100,000 ITF Pro Circuit Event. Playing this tournament against WTA top 200 players really highlighted to me the areas of my game that I needed to improve. I loved the atmosphere of playing big events and I am working really hard to have the chance to play more in the future.
Other highlights of my tennis journey are:
· Cheshire Open Women’s singles and doubles champion.
· Six times U18 Cheshire Doubles Champion
· Semi-final of Glasgow British Tour.
· Competed in the British Junior National Championships in 2017/18.
· I’ve been ranked as high as 15th in Great Britain for my age group.
· Quarter final of singles/ final of doubles at Bath Tennis Europe.
I am a level 1 qualified coach, a qualified tournament organiser and I am about to sit the final exam of the Tournament referee course. I love all aspects of tennis whether it be playing, coaching or officiating.
I have coached at my club, coaching a range of abilities and ages from 5 years old to 50+. I’ve organised and helped run numerous internal club tournaments and have started to run external tournaments where in my last match play we had a team of players from Hong Kong. I have also been trained to work at Wimbledon as a statistician during the tournament and hope to be part of the Championships next year.
I am now on a tennis and academic scholarship at St.Chad's College, Durham University studying Mathematics and I am hitting part time.
